SMOOTHING PROCESS
Process: Before any work is to commence at the residence, we cover every floor space we are to be working on with drop cloths to prevent damages to the floor areas and a poly plastic film is put over the drop cloths for additional protection over the floor areas and on the walls to contain dust and debris from entering other parts of the home where work is not being carried out. The process of ceiling texture removal is a very messy process and we take great pride in the removal of these textures to bring the substrate to the smoothest desire as possible with professional results.
Our experienced and knowledgeable team will wet and remove the existing textures if any and preppare the surface for a smooth finish. We wet the existing textures to minimze dust and make clean-up that much easier. Who likes to eat dust anyway?
DRYWALL CEILINGS: Once the textures have been removed, we will sand the substrate to prepare the surface. All tape joints, nail/screw heads, loose drywall and any MINOR damages will be skim coated two to three times and brought to the desired finish. We do not stop at that as we follow up on the skim coat with a finish coat to give the ceilings a flawless finish. After each phase of coating with compound, we sand the areas liberally and follow up with a single application of an acrylic/latex primer/sealer. This will bring out any additional flaws that may have been missed which will then be touched up and re-sanded. We will then again apply a second coat of an acrylic latex primer/sealer which will then be complimented with two coats of quality ceiling paint for a professional "superior" finish. A complete clean-up of the residence will be carried out after all materials and supplies are removed from the residence
CONDOS / APARTMENTS: If you live in a Condo / Apartment unit, We can remove any textures on the surface as well and skim coat the entire area to create the desired look. This will include the complete removal of all traces of ceiling texture exposing the bare concrete surface. We sand the area and apply a primer/sealer to encourage proper bonding techniques of the skim coat application. A 2-3 step process of skim coating will be applied until the desired look is achieved. We will then apply a scratch coat over the enitre surface area and again apply a primer/sealer.
OUR SMOOTHING PROCESS IS A "COMPLETE" FINISH
We do not just "Prepare" the surface for paint, our process is a complete finish. This includes two coats of primer/sealer complimented by two coats of quality ceiling paint.
You can be assured of having one contractor complete the process "RIGHT" the first time for a "SUPERIOR QUALITY" finish.
